Segment 04: DSLR Set Up (Part 1)
Depending on whether or not you'll be using a Mac or PC, here is a list of software and equipment to help you get started with a DSLR set up.
Software
A complete professional recording studio right on your Mac, Logic Pro X gives you everything you need to go from first inspiration to final master.
For a monthly fee you can have access to all the Adobe creative products, including the professional editing program, Premiere.
Use Adobe Audition to record your audio tracks directly in your computer.
Equipment
Canon Rebel T6i camera is a great entry camera into the world DSLR's. You can do a lot more than shoot self submission videos too!

In case you want to record your audio separately, I recommend picking up one of these portable digital recorders.
If you want to take your shotgun mic and input it into this USB mixer, you can record audio straight into your computer.
Clamps for Backdrop and Focus Card
You'll need these handy clamps to secure any backdrop and focus card when you're shooting by yourself.
In case you don't have a gray wall, you can always pick up a gray muslin backdrop.
Download this focus card and print it out onto card stock. Clamp the focus card onto the mic stand for your stand in.
